General Care and Ownership Information

Your wheels are serial numbered as part of our quality assurance system. The number is
unique to your wheel and can also be used as a security identification number.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF YOUR SALES ORDER NUMBER (SO#) AND SERIAL CODE LOCATED
ON THE BACKPAD OF YOUR WHEEL SET

1. INSPECTING YOUR WHEELS BEFORE FITTING TIRES
Before you fit tires or mount your wheels onto the vehicle you must check
the following:

1.1. Inspect the wheels immediately upon receipt for damage in transit, especially
if there is damage to the packing. Take photographs of any damage to packaging
or wheels

1.2. Check the max. static load, bolt pattern, bore diameter, offset/backspace, brake
caliper clearances and body work clearances are all as ordered. Any error in the
order is the responsibility of the customer or dealer

1.3. It is the company’s policy not to replace or credit wheels that have been fitted with
tires or mounted on the vehicle

1.4. Check that the tires to be fitted comply with the vehicle manufacturer’s
recommended rolling diameter for your vehicle, speed rating, static loading and
the wheel size you have chosen

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
Using tires that do not conform to the vehicle or tire manufacturer’s recommendations
may result in serious safety issues related to undersized or oversized fitments and/or may
adversely affect your vehicle’s

2. FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
Having inspected your wheels, the wheels should be fitted as follows:

2.1. Please see section 14. TIRE MOUNTING/DIMOUNTING for fitting instructions

2.2. Use STICK-ON WEIGHTS ONLY. Clip-on weights can cause damage to the wheels
and their use may void the warranty. To maintain the appearance of your wheels,
weights should be placed inside the wheel barrel not on the outer face of the rim

2.3. Bolt the wheel lug nuts using the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended torque
settings in the vehicle handbook, unless otherwise instructed by Brixton Forged

2.4. After the wheels and tires have been fitted to the vehicle, take for a short
test drive

2.5. Re- check the torque values of each lug nut/bolt and make sure that they are
torqued to the manufacturer’s recommended specifications

3. USING YOUR ORIGINAL WHEEL AS A SPARE
If you intend to use one of your original equipment wheels as a spare, make sure that you
keep a set of the correct lug nuts/bolts and a properly sized spanner or wrench in the car
at all times. In most cases, Brixton Forged wheels utilize the original lug nuts/bolts;
however, this may not be true in all cases.

4. TAMPERING WITH WHEEL ASSEMBLY
Under no circumstances should the fastening systems between the rim and centrepiece be
tampered with. Do NOT attempt to tighten or loosen the wheel assembly bolts.

WARNING: TAMPERING WITH THE ASSEMBLY BOLTS WILL AUTOMATICALLY VOID THE WARRANTY.

Brixton Forged™ - Wheel Cleaning

5. WHEEL CLEANING

In order to keep your wheels looking like new, regular cleaning is highly recommended.
In climates where salt or chemicals are used on the roads or likely to come into contact
with your wheels.

Wheels that have not been kept clean, or have incorrect wheel cleaner applied, will not be
covered by warranty.

Please follow these wheel cleaning guidelines:

5.1. Never use any non-water based solvent chemical based cleaners or harsh cleaning
solutions

5.2. Use only mild soap and water with a soft, non-abrasive brush or cloth rag to clean
the wheels of dirt and debris

5.3. Spray-on, hose off type cleaners are strictly prohibited

5.4. Do not clean the wheels when they are still warm from operation of the vehicle.
Allow them to cool before attempting to hose off with water

5.5. Never use pressure washers for cleaning high performance wheels

5.6. A soft paste protective wax may be applied to your wheels to ease maintenance
and improve wheel appearance on clear-coated or painted wheels

13. TIRE CLEARANCE CHECK

The wheel manufacturing warranty does not cover tire to fender clearance or tire to
suspension clearance. This clearance must be fit-checked before mounting all of the tires,
using the following procedure:

13.1. Mount one tire on a wheel intended for use on the front of the vehicle (see tire
fitting guide below)

13.2. Install the tire/wheel assembly on the front hub and with the vehicle still on
the lift, turn the steering from extreme right to extreme left, whilst checking for
any interference with fender well, or suspension components

13.3. Lower the vehicle and repeat step two with the weight of the vehicle applied

13.4. Whilst observing the tire/fender clearance, gain assistance to ”bounce” the front
of the vehicle to check that suspension travel does not cause tire rub. Also check
that the wheel balance weights do not contact suspension components

13.5. Repeat process for the rear tire/wheel assembly

WARNING: DO NOT PUT HANDS, FINGERS OR ANY BODY PART BETWEEN TIRE AND
VEHICLE WHILST CONDUCTING THESE CHECKS.

14. TIRE MOUNTING/DISMOUNTING CHECKLIST

14.1. Wheels and tires are clearly marked with their sizes – ensure that they match
before mounting

14.2. Protective eyewear should always be worn during the mounting/dismounting,
installation and servicing of wheels

14.3. The tire manufacturer’s rim width recommendations must be followed when
selecting wheel size

14.4. If the barrel has an anti-slip coating within the tire well, ensure this coating is not
missing, or peeling off, prior to fitting the tires

14.5. Mount all tires according to the tyre manufacturers and the tire machine
manufacturers recommended procedures.

14.6. If tire pressure monitor systems are either bolted directly into the valve hole or
bonded onto the wheels, use caution to not break the sensor when mounting the
tires

TIRE MOUNTING

14.7. Use tire fitting lubricant generously on all bead surfaces of the wheel and tire. It
is strongly recommended that a quality proprietary bead sealing compound is
used on all very low-profile tires (below 35% aspect ratio). This ensures a good
initial seal of the tire bead to the wheel

14.8 To avoid scratching or damaging a wheel during mounting/dismounting of tires,
make sure that the tire machine is properly adjusted

14.9. Ensure that the machine and its components are clean and debris free prior to
use

14.10. When mounting onto a hub supported tyre fitting machines (e.g. ‘Hunter Auto
34’, ‘Hunter TCR1’ or equivalent) ensure the centre is securely clamped in place
prior to tire fitting. The user must be careful that the tire bead is pushed into the
wheel well, as the machine rotates to fit the tire

14.11. When mounting onto a rim supported tire fitting machines (e.g ‘Hunter TCX53’)
the user must ensure that the external rim clamping fixture has the associated
rubber covers in place. Surface damage may occur if these are not used. Incorrect
operation of such machines could cause damage to the inboard flange

14.12. When seating the tire to the head of the rim, do not exceed the Tire
manufacturers stated pop on pressure, this can be found on the tire side wall.
If the tire bead does not seat on the wheel at this pressure, deflate the tire, rotate
the tyre 180 degrees on the rim, re-lubricate and check for tire/wheel size match
before re-inflation

14.13. Once beads are seated, install valve core, reconnect the air chuck and inflate
the tire until the correct pressure is reached according to the tire manufacturer’s
recommendation. Check the bead edges and the valve for leaks, and then install
the valve cap

14.14 If tire pressure monitor systems are either bolted directly into the valve hole or
bonded onto the wheels, use caution to not break the sensor when mounting the
tires

TIRE DISMOUNTING

14.15. When using a hub supported tire fitting machine it has been found that the
automatic setting on the bead breaker roller can, under certain circumstances,
come into contact with the rim. It is important that if this is the case, this is not
to be used. Manual adjustment of the bead breaker roller setup position can be
used to prevent this. The user must ensure that the bead breaker rollers do not
come into contact with the barrel at any point. If these instructions are not
followed it is possible that irreparable bead seat damage may occur

14.16. When using a rim supported tire fitting machine care must be taken to ensure
that the tire bead breaker does not come into contact with the rim, to do so may
damage the rim. As with mounting, the user must ensure that the external rim
clamping fixture has the associated rubber covers in place. Surface damage may
occur if these are not used. Incorrect operation of such machines could cause
damage to the inboard flange

14.17. Ensure any tire lever used is clean, free of debris, has no sharp edges or previous
usage damage. Care must be taken when using a tire lever to avoid any contact
with the barrel surface, Inappropriate use of the lever may damage the wheel,
causing surface gouging and visual defects

15. WHEEL INSTALLATION

15.1. Hold the new custom wheel on the vehicle hub and tighten each fastener finger tight

15.2. Fasteners must be tightened in a crisscross pattern to ensure uniform pressure
and alignment. Apply torque evenly by repeating the crisscross pattern until the
desired torque is reached

15.3. During installation, gravity causes the wheel to rest upon the highest stud. If the
wheel is clamped down off-centre, it can be dangerous and damaging to your
wheel and tires

15.4. A calibrated torque device must be used to achieve the correct torque setting,
as specified by the Original Equipment Manufacturer. If it is not specified in the
vehicle owner’s manual, contact the vehicle manufacturer

16. GENERAL NOTES

WARNING: IF YOU ARE IN ANY DOUBT WHATSOEVER REGARDING ANY ASPECT OF
THE INSTALLATION PROCESS, DO NOT INSTALL THE WHEELS.

INSTEAD CONSULT YOUR DEALER OR BRIXTON FORGED DIRECTLY FOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT.

16.1. Read the owner’s manual and warnings in conjunction with these guidelines

16.2. Do not allow the lug nut to bottom out on the stud. If using lug bolts, do not allow
the bolt to bottom out on the mounting surfaces. Either condition is extremely
dangerous and unsafe because the clamping force of the fastener is not being
applied to the wheel. Check each stud individually for these problems as some
lengths may vary

16.3. Never use fewer fasteners than the wheel and vehicle was designed for. If the
wheel has 5 holes, then use 5 fasteners

16.4. When placing the wheel on the studs, there may be an apparent looseness of fit
until the fasteners are applied

17. AFTER INSTALLATION

17.1. Fasteners should be retorqued at approximately 25 miles
17.2. Retorquing must be carried out any time the fasteners are removed for any reason
17.3. Routinely check and maintain recommended tyre pressures
