Blue Camaro SS Restomod!

The introduction of the Mustang in April 1964 caught virtually everyone except Ford off guard. Where was Chevy’s affordable sporty car to compete with the Mustang? The rear-engine Corvair didn’t really cut it, and the boxy Chevy II Nova lacked sex appeal. While there had been notions advanced for producing a “Super Nova” of sorts before the Mustang debuted, it wasn’t until the Mustang was a proven hit in August of 1964 that the go-ahead was given to rush a comparable car into production. That’s a fully developed car in Chevy showrooms by the fall of 1966—barely more than two years.

The same basic car, fast forward five decades and enter Roadster Shops. SPEC is an engineering focused approach using the latest in manufacturing technology to build the lightest, strongest, and easiest to install complete chassis system. These technologies have been used to streamline procedures resulting in lower cost and shorter lead times. The SPEC IFS is engineered to deliver outstanding performance wrapped up in user friendly package. A completely new proprietary suspension geometry has been designed to provide the best balance of ride quality and performance in its class.

One might ask how do you take this Camaro to the next level? Matt Richmond equipped this 1969 Camaro with our CM6 RS Targa lightweight 2 piece wheels finished in Firecracker Black (Satin) & color-matched blue detailing. This is a full restomod with an LT4, that usually is found in a C7 Corvette Z06, and Willwood big break kit. That only scratches the surface of what he did to this American icon.
